ChemWriter 1.0 Beta 1
Monday, November 12, 2007
Metamolecular, LLC is pleased to announce the availability of ChemWriter™ 1.0 Beta 1. ChemWriter is the 2D chemical structure editor designed specifically for Web applications. ChemWriter was formerly known by its codename “Firefly.”
ChemWriter 1.0 Beta 1 addresses the following issues:
- Fixes a bug in which certain molecules drawn with overlapping bonds could freeze the editor. Drawing a new single bond superimposed on an old bond now uniformly results in an increase in bond order.
- Fixes a bug in which certain molecules containing double bonds with wide bond angles were not autoscaled, autocentered, or displayed properly.
- Overrides Applet.getAppletInfo() to aid in determining whether applet initialization succeeded.
- Corrected molfile output by placing the “2D” parameter in molfile headers.
- Added a “ChemWriter Tutorial” option under the Help menu that redirects users to the [ChemWriter homepage](http://metamolecular.com/products/chemwriter).
- Fixed several miscellaneous bugs on Mac OS X running JDK 1.4.2.
The new ChemWriter 1.1 Beta 1 release can be tested on the ChemWriter homepage.
